Installer of Theatrical Lighting and Rigging Systems

Full-Time

PORT, a leading provider of entertainment and architectural lighting services, is seeking an Installer of Theatrical Lighting and Rigging Systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a crew in on-site rigging projects and ensuring that all work is completed accurately and efficiently. In addition, the successful candidate will perform equipment preparation, maintenance, and repairs as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a crew in on-site rigging projects, ensuring that all work is completed safely and accurately
  • Double-check paperwork generated by project managers or management for accuracy and field adaptation
  • Pull paperwork related to projects and review drawings, specifications, and bill of materials before installation
  • Prepare equipment for mobilization and demobilization of installations
  • Follow all on-site safety requirements
  • Perform necessary maintenance on existing completed systems
  • Assist with rigging inspections and dimmer cleanings, and write inspection reports
  • Perform rigging repairs as needed

Entertainment And Architectural Lighting Control Technician

Full-Time

We are currently looking for a skilled and versatile Lighting Control Technician to join our dynamic company specializing in both entertainment and architectural lighting. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and integration of lighting control systems. This includes a diverse range of settings including but not limited to facilities that support theatrical productions, performance venues, sports/concert arenas, hotels, as well as both interior and exterior architectural spaces.

Additional responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

  •  Installation: Execute the installation of lighting control systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Commissioning: Conduct thorough commissioning processes to verify the functionality and performance of installed lighting control systems.
  •  Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections of lighting control systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Integration: Collaborate with project managers, designers, directors, architects, and users to integrate lighting control systems seamlessly into various settings.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and address technical issues related to lighting control systems during installations, performances, and events.
  • Programming: Program and configure lighting control systems to achieve desired effects, responding to the creative vision of lighting designers, architects, and end users.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installation details, commissioning processes, maintenance activities, and any modifications made to lighting control systems.
  • Training: Provide training and support to end-users and technical staff on the operation and maintenance of lighting control systems.

Assistant Project Manager Lighting Production Services

Full-Time

The Assistant Project Manager works under the direction of a senior project manager to assist with the drafting of lighting plots, light wright schedules, shop prep lists, client meetings, site visits, and other advance work to prepare for upcoming lighting production projects.  

Additional responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

  • Leading crews on-site during set up and strike of lighting systems, serving as production electrician, programming lighting consoles, and interfacing with clients and other vendors on site. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to lift 50lbs. 
  • Seeking a team-minded, safety focused, client facing forward-thinking leader adept at organization and time management, with a good base knowledge of lighting systems.  The ideal candidate has a BA in theater lighting or 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience, familiarity with Vectorworks, Lightwright, and operation of lighting consoles. OSHA 10 and aerial lift training is a plus.
  • Salary commensurate with experience, excellent benefits package.

Safe operation of up to 24’ box trucks (non-CDL), for equipment delivery for production, rentals, and systems. This a part time call in as needed job. General work hours: M-F 9am–5:30pm. Nights & weekends often required. Must be age 21+ with high school diploma, GED. At least one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education & experience required. Must pass a Department of Transportation physical, background check, & have a clean driving record. Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
